USYS East Region President Cup (Jun 2024)

Introducing the 2024 USYS Eastern Region U15 Presidents Cup Champions...The SCCSA Dragons 09! The Dragons were looking to avenge their previous loss to Tacoma Park SC (MD) in the finals. While controlling much of the game the Dragons couldn't find the back of the net despite numerous chances. With about 10 min to go a failure to clear the ball resulted in the Dragons falling behind 1-0. On a very hot and tiring day, where many would give up, the team regrouped, dug deep, and threw everything forward and were rewarded with a goal with 5 minutes remaining to tie the game. In overtime, the constant pressure provided by the Dragons resulted in 2 more goals and a 3-1 victory. The coaches and parents couldn't be prouder of such a hard working group of boys. The boys finished 4-1 at Regionals scoring 18 and allowing 6 in some brutally hot conditions.

Next up...USYS National Presidents Cup in Wichita Kansas July 11-16 where they will face off against the other regional winners and regional runner up's. Best of luck and Keep on Rolling Boys!

Eastern Presidents Cup update - The Dragons 2009 played in the Semi Finals today and took down Celtic from Western Pa 3-1 to book their place in the finals and also advance to the National Presidents Cup tournament in July. This is back to back years that SCCSA is sending a U15 boys team to nationals as the Dragons 2008 advanced last year. Well done Boys! #ClaimTheCup

Eastern Presidents Cup Update…Day 2 is over. Although the Dragons 09 (BU15) started a little slow, they hit their stride in the second half and rolled to a 5-0 win for the second consecutive day. Good luck to the boys tomorrow in Game 3 of the group stage.

Day 1 is a wrap at Eastern Presidents cup. The SCCSA Dragons 09 (BU15) cruised to a 5-0 victory vs Princeton FC (NJ). Up next is a battle vs Farmington SC Fire (CT) on Sat at 2:15pm. Congrats! #ClaimTheCup

Big shout out to the Dragons 04 who came out in full force last night to give their little brothers, the Dragons 09 a friendly match before the Dragons 09 head to West Virginia for regionals. It was great to see the older players back together and interacting with the younger players and sharing their experience from playing at Regionals. Next up, a friendly with the Dragons 08 who played in Presidents Cup Nationals last year.
