2021 EPYSA Challenge Cup Champions (BU12)!

The Comeback Kids did it again!

Dragons '09 (BU12) competed in the EPYSA Challenge Cup finals yesterday against a very strong team from Hershey SC. Just like the quarterfinals and semifinals the Dragons 09 found themselves having to come from behind. Early in the second half they fell behind 2-0. Where many would hang their head, this team seems to thrive on challenges. They dug deep and pressed and got one back with 15 to play and tied the game with 7 left and kept pressing. Unable to score again in regulation brought overtime. The team came out of the break determined and broke through with 1 minute remaining of overtime to take the lead 3-2. They closed out the game and where crowned Challenge Cup State Champs! What a crazy and awesome run by a group of kids who refused to give up.

Semi Finals Update

Dragons ‘09 (BU12) Advance to the finals of the EPYSA Challenge Cup with a 4-1 win over Ukrainian Black today. Well done boys!

Quarter Finals Update

What a Game!

Dragons '09 (BU12) - The team hosted a tough Palumbo SC team this past weekend in the State Challenge Cup quarter finals and quickly found themselves down 2-0. The team settled in and turned the game around getting one back to cut the deficit in half. The team tied the game early in the send half and was dangerous the rest of the half. With about a minute left the team unfortunately gave one up. Most teams would pack it in but not these boys. They gave it everything in that last minute and equalized with just seconds remaining to send it to overtime. Continuing to attack the team scored 2 in overtime to win 5-3 and advance to the Semi Finals. What a game and what heart and determination from the Boys! Best of luck to the team and coaches in the Semi's

Group State Update

Congratulations to the Dragons '09 (BU12) for advancing to the quarter finals of the state Challenge Cup. The team won their bracket by beating teams from Nether United, Penn Fusion and Malvern United. Across the 3 games the team scored 16 goals and only allowed 1. Best of luck to the team in the next round.
